Could this dough be fried anyway?

Yes! you can use this dough and deep fry it in oil and serve as regular donuts too!

Can these be filled?

You most certainly can. Avoid cutting out the donut hole and proceed with the instructions.

Is there a way to make the crust softer?

Brush the tops with oil or melted butter to get a softer exterior.
