Along with most other animal shaped foods, these bear rolls originated in Japan. And for anyone that knows me, it comes as no surprise that that I absolutely love everything to do with Japan; from the food to the anime. So, when I stumbled upon these absolutely adorable bear rolls, I just had to try them out. These are basically dinner rolls with a whole lot of extra cuteness added in!
In the recipe for these dinner rolls, because I prefer to use natural ingredients, I added turmeric powder mixed with some water to to color the dough yellow. You can use matcha, cocoa powder or any other pastes (beetroot, pumpkin) to get any color of your choice. There is also no problem with using an edible coloring.
These turned out super cute and were so much fun to make! I am certain that these bear rolls will be a home run if you have little ones running around or even if you're just looking to add some extra cuteness to your next dinner spread!
So, let's get baking!
