That's right folks! it's here and it's super easy, not to mention delicious. This recipe is going to knock your socks off. With a few simple steps you can enjoy a delectable breakfast. If you want to take it up a notch you can make stuffed French toast or savoury, that's a recipe for another day. For now let's get cooking!




Fun fact, the French toast was not discovered in France, it was a man named Joseph French. He created the dish in 1724, and advertised it as “French Toast” because he was grammatically inept and forgot the apostrophe.

How to turn these into gourmet French toast?

First off, the fresh cream is not optional. You need to add it. Secondly, ditch the white bread and use brioche bread instead. And finally, use a berry compote, whipped cream and fresh fruit.


Can we make it savoury?

Yes of course, add little to no sugar. Season the egg mixture with salt and pepper. Toss in some minced scallions and shallots. Serve with sausages/bacon, avocado and sautéed mushrooms, halved cherry tomatoes.
