Is anything better than a dark chocolate brownie? For years, I couldn’t seem to find a recipe for brownies that met my standards. Anytime I made brownies, I wanted them to be just like the ones I ate as a kid – super fudgy, moist and full of chocolate goodness, with perfect crackly tops. If you're anything like me, then these brownies are guaranteed to hit the spot!
Being a picky brownie eater myself I made sure that this recipe was not overly sweet. If you want to enjoy a brownie and don't want to feel like you're eating a mouth full of sugar, this recipe is the perfect solution! However, if you do prefer sweeter brownies, you are free to add any toppings of your choice. So, let's get baking!

Quick tutorial
Recipe card

You'll know when it's done baking when the edges are firm and the middle is still slightly soft to the touch.
Can we use all castor sugar?
Yes, you totally can. Use 120g castor sugar if you don't have brown sugar. I like the denser feeling brown sugar gives to the brownie.
What else can be added to the batter?
You can mix in any kind of chocolate, toppings or spreads that you prefer. It all depends on how much of a sweet tooth you have.
Serving suggestions
Top off with whipped cream, berries, cookie spread, dust with icing sugar or serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
