For those who love all things sourdough, I present to you sourdough pizza! This delicious and tangy dough pairs perfectly with any kind of pizza sauce and topping. Homemade sourdough pizza is also a healthier option to normal pizza.



Once you try this chewy and crunchy crust you will never again want to go back to regular pizza crust. Everybody loves pizza and its the ideal meal for any occasion; so let's get baking!

Can we use active dry yeast instead of sourdough starter/discard?

Yes, you can use 1/2 teaspoon of yeast instead. However, then it wouldn't be a 'sourdough pizza', but it will be a good pizza nonetheless.


Do we have to use olive oil or any oil at all?

The oil gives the crust flavor and moisture, it also acts as a barrier to keep out excess moisture from the sauce migrating into the dough. But you can leave it out of the dough if the pizza is a thin crust.

Is it compulsory to keep the dough to proof over night?

You have the option of making the dough during the morning and using it for dinner. But after the initial 2 hour rest, it needs an additional 5 to 8 hours rest.
